Marumali Program®

Since 2000 the Marumali Program® has been delivering the evidence based, culturally informed healing program to enhance supports for Stolen Generations, their families and communities and the people who work with them.

Our Story

The Marumali Program® was founded by Aunty Lorraine Peeters, a courageous survivor of the Stolen Generations. This program is a beacon of hope, offering a culturally safe and trauma-informed framework that empowers individuals, families, and communities. With a foundation in cultural knowledge and lived experiences, the Marumali Program® provides a unique healing pathway.

It is designed to enhance the capabilities of service systems, ensuring they deliver support that is respectful, safe, and culturally appropriate. Our workshops are adaptable, catering to the specific needs of participants, whether they are frontline service providers, young people, families, or organisations.

By supporting service providers to understand the impact of forcible removal and the signs of trauma, we help prevent re-traumatisation and foster recovery. For individuals, especially Stolen Generations survivors, the program aids in reconnecting with identity and culture, building resilience, and advancing personal healing journeys.

The Marumali Program® is a testament to the strength and resilience of Indigenous communities. It addresses the widespread impact of historical trauma and provides tools for recovery and empowerment.

Our mission is to support healing through culturally grounded methods, helping individuals and communities reclaim their sense of identity and belonging. We are committed to fostering environments where cultural safety and respect are paramount, ensuring that every participant feels supported on their journey to healing and empowerment.
